Many 50s-something men that grew up as a gay boy of the 80s were shunned and thrown out of the family. Both my parents supported me no matter who or what I was. I count my blessings every day.

I miss my dad a lot. I’m lucky to be able to still be able to call my mom. She hates being called Maude, but she hate being called “Ma” more.

Here’s to you, Mom. Here’s to you, Maude.

I found a video from 2009 here on the blog.jpnearl.com web server. Apparently I’ve grown a little more inhibited as I’ve aged. I must find my carefree ways again. It’s the only to get through this world with sanity intact.

In the name of sanity, I thank the universe for not inflicting ridiculous April Fool’s pranks on us this year. It is one of my least favorite holidays to begin with, but throwing jokes and pranks at us during this catastrophe would have just been extra mean.

Either they were non-existent or I stayed clear of them by pure luck. Either way, thank you.

I’ve been watching clips of television shows from the 50s and 60s over the past week or so. Escaping to better television is helping me not obsess about this predicament we’re all in.

I’ve always adored Elizabeth Montgomery and I get a kick out of seeing her in roles before “Bewitched” came around. Here’s a clip of her from 1963 in “Burke’s Law”. I find her always to be a delight, but watch what she does in the last couple of seconds in the clip. She had a certain nervous habit.

We need more of this.

Our excitement for the weekend. This is what we do now.

Apparently there’s an app called House Party that’s the new bees’ knees of the isolation set. I know nothing about the app or what it’s for but I do love Jeno’s Pizza Rolls, especially the Chili Cheeseburger flavor.

I’m learning a lot about my circle of friends and family during this pandemic. Admittedly I’m finding more positive energy from those I choose to follow on Twitter versus what I’m seeing on Facebook. Once I stray away from my specific, curated Twitter timeline things go completely off the rails, but right now, at this time, I’m following the right people.

Facebook, on the other hand, is all over the place. I have relatives beating their chests, other relatives posting nonsensical memes, lots of pilot friends that are worried about their careers, and cat photos. Lots of cat photos.

Watching Rosie do her thing again gave me the mood boost I absolutely needed today. Things are good for us here at home. So I’ll continue to concentrate on the good things.

And I’ll maintain a heavy filter on Facebook consumption.
