He’s A Feline.

Caturday.

Truman is insistent on going out on the roof around 9:00 PM every night. I have to accompany him out there, or else when it’s time to get back in he’ll start scratching at the door and weatherstripping and since we haven’t paid for those things yet, we probably shouldn’t let kitty destroy them.

I have noticed Truman is more insistent on going outside when there’s moonlight. I don’t know if it gives his night vision an extra kick or what, but he likes to just go outside and bask in the moonlight. I go out with him and we look at the stars together.

Caturday.

Truman has decided the coffee table is a grand spot to take a nap when we’re watching television. He looks so peaceful and calm taking a nap in one of his favorite places.

Caturday.

Marshall took this most excellent photo of Truman this week. We were watching “The Good Wife” but Truman doesn’t have an interest in Christine Baranski, as dynamically interesting as she may be. He’s more concerned with his next round of kibble, which accordingly to the clock on the wall in this photo, was 16 minutes later.

Truman enjoys his automatic feeder, even if it doesn’t give him enough kibble when it starts making rumbling noises.

Truman’s pose in this photo may be attributed to the scant bits of thunder and lightning we’ve been getting each evening (though there was one impressive storm early in the week). Usually he doesn’t care, but if the lightning is distracting from listening for the rumble of the kibble dispenser, then it’s important to stand up and take notice.

Caturday.

Truman enjoys standing on the back stairs, just out of reach of his canine friends Lucky and Jinx. When we hear a scurry and the dogs go running down the back hallway, we know Truman has made an appearance and a graceful leap, calling “safe” but standing on one of the lower stairs, staring at his friends.

There are times when everyone can enjoy a social experience, and that often involves Truman standing at one of the kitchen doors, enjoying the wonders of flight from his bird friends on the other side of his natural television glass.

Caturday.

Truman has been quite social this week, spending more time than usual on his cat tree in the family room. It gives him a good vantage point to see what’s going on around the house without being too overwhelming or intrusive. I totally get that.

He’s also been doing well with his canine friends Lucky and Jinx. They all seem to have come to an understanding on space and such. The dogs protect Truman from trying to escape outside into the desert heat. When all is well they even nap together.

Caturday.

Truman seems to ask “what?” with his look while relaxing in the kitchen. As he gets older he gets a little more set in his ways.

Caturday.

Truman likes to keep it casual when I’m working in my office. He’s been rotating his relaxation locations for the past several weeks. Apparently the middle of the back stairwell now provides a good feline vantage point.

Caturday.

Truman has been changing up his napping habits over the past couple of weeks. It’s a rare occasion for him to relax inside his little carpet tube (that was imported from Chicago) but lately he’s been using this area to nap and maintain watch over the dogs of the house.

He’s also taken to sleeping in the middle of the floors as the weather gets warmer. Perhaps we need to install a small fan that follows him around.

Caturday.

Truman often situates himself on the bed when it’s time for us to get up, but he’s always at the end of the bed and facing away. This is the feline equivalent of interested disinterest. But it’s to be assumed that this is for kibble distribution.
