Sunsets.

I’ve been playing around with some filters designed to be used with the iPhone camera. These filters are from Freewell; this particular filter is the Freewell Sherpa Snow Mist filter.

I’m quite happy with the results of catching last night’s sunset. The filter does a fantastic job of taking the sharpness edge off photos taken with my iPhone 16 Pro.

Sophistication.

I have been an avid craft beer drinker for many years. My preference for craft beer leans toward the darker beers; porters are my favorite. There’s a Peanut Butter Porter at a local craft brew place that is super enjoyable.

My stomach is apparently no longer enjoying craft beers. Always treating my body as some grand science experiment (at least grand in my own eyes), I’ve narrowed down bouts of acid reflux with drinking beer. I can down some Tums from time to time, but I don’t think consuming Tums, no matter how smoothie they can be, is good for the long term.

I’ve been venturing into wines over the latter half of 2024, and Earl and I really enjoyed our wine tasting experience when we were in California back in October. So for our New Year’s Eve celebration I picked up a bottle of Moët and Chandon Imperial.

I’ve seen this Brut mentioned on a few of the travel channels I follow on YouTube, so I decided to splurge a little bit for this extra treat to ring in the New Year.

It was delicious and better yet, no indications of acid reflux during the night.

No one else in the house wanted a glass of this brew so I had a couple of glasses and stored the rest for this past weekend. I had some more of this Brut on Saturday night and this morning, no acid reflux.

Now, I know the Surgeon General is releasing new, dire warnings about the dangers of drinking alcohol, and probably with good reason. I heard talk about adding larger, more detailed warning labels to alcohol containers, and that’s probably a good idea.

But if there’s one thing that’s going to get me through the next four years it’s having a drink from time to time. Fret not; I certainly know my limits and I’m sure not going to risk my pilot’s license by driving while under the influence, but having a glass of wine from time to time will help take the edge off of these next four years, with the Mango Mushpot and Sissy Space X “running” the country.

If I’m having a drink, I’m having one in style. Because wine is quite enjoyable.
