He’s A Feline.

Caturday.

Truman has decided that one of the desks in our Activity Room makes for a great napping spot. Earl took this photo of him a few moments ago; he has now put his head down on the desk and has settled in for his morning nap. Nap time only may only commence after I have removed his stuff from the litter box (one of my feline related daily chores) and have dispensed a couple of treats.

Caturday.

Truman is on wildlife patrol this morning. After sitting on his perch watching the back yard for wildlife for an hour or so, he moved down stairs to check out the gazebo area.

It’s a good distraction from constantly requesting food.

Caturday.

Truman has been pretty chill lately. He shows his contentment by positioning himself on the floor and just watching the world go by. His claws going in and out indicate happiness.

Caturday, Addendum.

I was sitting on the couch minding my own business when Truman indicated he wanted to jump up next to me. This is not unusual as he usually settles within arm’s reach. It’s his way to tell me he loves me.

However, today was different.

He immediately stretched himself up to my shoulders and decided that he needed to cuddle up with me right on my chest. He has lived with us since January 2019 and this is the first time he’s wanted to cuddle. He settled in, purring up a storm, as I gave him plenty of scritches behind his ears and on the back of his neck. His pleasantness was a bit of a surprise and, more importantly, it was a delight.

Perhaps after four and a half years we have passed some sort of test and this is a new trend.

I hope so.

Caturday.

I asked Truman to pose for me and he did this like he knows the word “pose”. I enjoy his gaze off into the distance. There’s nothing up there that I would think would interest him, but he struck this pose for this week’s photo.

He’s been purring and sitting near me more often this week and I have found the practice enjoyable. I’m happy he’s happy.

Caturday.

Truman likes to keep it casual. Sometimes kicking back in the middle of the room is just what he needs. Don’t we all.

Caturday.

Truman enjoys keeping watching over the driveway and front yard when he’s in my office. This is, of course, we have played a few rounds of “swat the ball” (I toss a Nerf pellet gun ball at him with my hands and he swats it back), I have dispensed treats to his pleasing, and he has consumed treats. Occasionally I am allowed to give scritches.

Caturday.

Truman has been enjoying nap time in the middle of the floor as of late. It’s interesting to see how his positioning changes with the time of year. He’s also been enjoying a spot at the top of the stairs: a good view of who’s coming up the stairs and good ear shot to hear what the dogs are up to.

Caturday.

Truman is insistent on going out on the roof around 9:00 PM every night. I have to accompany him out there, or else when it’s time to get back in he’ll start scratching at the door and weatherstripping and since we haven’t paid for those things yet, we probably shouldn’t let kitty destroy them.

I have noticed Truman is more insistent on going outside when there’s moonlight. I don’t know if it gives his night vision an extra kick or what, but he likes to just go outside and bask in the moonlight. I go out with him and we look at the stars together.

Caturday.

Truman has decided the coffee table is a grand spot to take a nap when we’re watching television. He looks so peaceful and calm taking a nap in one of his favorite places.
