I beefed up my “weather monitoring” setup in my downstairs office. I usually have storm chasing information going as background noise as I do my day job.
This is a Linux-based workstation, using parts I had around the house.
- Ubuntu 25.04
- Alienware Aurora R7 with 64GB RAM
- nVidia Geforce GTX 1080 video card
- RadarOmega radar software
The vertically mounted monitor will be moved to over the main monitor and oriented to a horizontal layout when a new monitor arm arrives tomorrow.
The two smaller displays are the two Raspberry Pis that have been there a while, one running ADS-B Exchange, using data from the receiver on our roof, and the other running Python Console for Weather Flow Tempest and Smart Home Weather Station, available on here: https://community.tempest.earth/t/weatherflow-piconsole/20083
