Weather Patterns.

Mother Nature is going to be slightly feisty for the next day or so here in the Sonoran Desert. The winds are kicking up impressively today, and I just had an alert a little bit of lightning to the north of us. Of course I geared up into storm chasing mode.

I do my best storm chasing in my jump boots, even if I’m not leaving the house. Actually, I’m happiest in general when I’m wearing my jump boots.

The current round of storms, a very small cell with some precipitation and just a bit of lightning, is passing to the north of us. In the distance you’ll see Mount Lemmon and the associated area. When I’m not hiking up there I’m watching the clouds pass by.

As I recall, Mother Nature preceded my annual chasecation with a little of action at home the week before my departure last year.

Right now it looks like there’s going to be ridge of high pressure over Tornado Alley for the first few days I’m out there. I plan on just enjoying the trip for what it is, driving to where I need to be.
